Hattons are pleased to introduce our online Preowned service, which will make trading in your preowned items even easier!
How it Works
Click on Trade In to start browsing our products and creating lists of items to sell! You don't need to have an account to use this feature, however logged in users will have access to additional features including the ability to track the progress of your deals, the ability to work on multiple lists at the same time, and view a record of all the deals you have made with us. Logged in users will also have access to their Hattons Purchase History, allowing for easy trading in of items previously purchased from us.
Your trade in page will allow you to search our database for products to trade in. An example is shown below
Once you have found the product you are looking for, click on the "Add to List" button.

Once you have selected an item, we will need to know a little more about it. After clicking on an item, you can tell us what condition it is in.
Use this form to tell us about the condition of your item. Simply select the appropriate options and click either "Save and Add another item" to search for another product, or "Save and Return to List" to return to your list. The options are not mandatory, but we would appreciate as much information as possible about each item so that we can accurately value it for you. Some options may be selected by default on certain items.
Once you start adding items to your lists, the conditions will be saved, which can help you quickly add items with the same conditions. On your list page, you will see a panel similar to the one pictured below:
The conditions from the most recently added item will be recorded in the panel, including any notes that are added. Additionally, each result will now have an "Add with Saved Conditions" option, which will add the item directly to your list with the conditions that have been saved. Please note, if any of the saved conditions are not suitable for the product, then you may be redirected to the product page to select an alternative option. If this happens, any valid conditions will be selected for you already.
Your Trade in List
Once you have added some items to your list, it will look something like this:
Here you can view your list of items. You can use the "Edit" and "Remove" buttons to make changes to your items. Your list will be saved automatically whenever you add, edit or remove an item.
Once your list is complete, click on the "Submit" button to submit it to our pre-owned team for valuation. We will then take your contact details and be in touch with your offer as soon as possible (usually within 48 hours).
Once you submit the list, it can no longer be added to or edited, so make sure it is complete before submitting.
Alternatively, you can use the "Create New List" button to start a new trade in list. If you are logged in, this will save the existing list so you can return to it later if you need to.

If your item has its original box, that should contain all the information you need to find it in our database.
If not, try looking on the underside of the model to find the manufacturer's name, as this can help narrow the search down.
Of course, there is the chance that your item may not be in our database. If you still cannot match your item against our suggestions, click here to find out how to submit unidentified items, or you can submit a product suggestion here.
Yes we do! When describing your item, please let us know if there is any damage to it, so that we can value it accordingly.
Yes we do! Please try to identify your item accurately if they don't have their boxes, so that we can value them correctly.
Once you submit your list, it will be received by one of our dedicated valuation team. They will review and value your items and be in touch with an offer.
Once we have received your list, we aim to get back to you with an offer within 48 hours. Please note that for larger lists, or lists with a large number of unidentified items, this may take longer, but we will be in touch to let you know.
If you accept our offer, we can send you a pre-paid postage label to help you get the items to us. All you would have to do would be to parcel up the items, attach the label, and drop them off at a nearby collection point, and then they will be brought to us.
Please note, this option is only available to UK customers.
Alternatively, for larger collections, we can arrange for a courier to collect the items directly from you.
Once we have received your items, we can pay you either by a direct bank transfer, or send you a cheque, whichever you prefer. Payment is usually made within three working days of receiving your items.
Most of the time, no! The amount we offer is the amount you will receive.
The only reason an offer may change is if the items we receive are not as described in your list. If we have to change your offer, we will contact you with the revised offer and, if you are not satisfied, we can return your items to you free of charge.
